Wednesday, 09.08.10: Security Issues

For all SitesAsRx clients, I offer my deepest apologies.  One of my goals when agreeing with Marcus to start SitesAsRx was to provide a website technology that would enable affiliate owners to spend less time managing their website and MORE time doing what they love...  running their affiliates.  I have failed over the past several months, and have not met my goals.  In turn, your websites have occasionally become a depreciating liability, instead of the investment that it should be.

What has happened?  I can honestly say that I don't know.  The kind of attacks being used are very intelligent, and when a Federal Agent attempted to explain it to me today, I could only grasp half of it.  Regardless of my own understanding, the servers have been compromised...  that's the fact, plain and simple.  Can we prevent against all hacker attacks?  Absolutely not.  Software is writen by humans, and we are not only capable, but prone to err. 

What's different this time?  We haven't gotten lucky enough to clean up the system ourselves.  We have realized that this is out of our control.  We are not only turning the servers over to forensics, we also plan on contracting out security experts to rebuild our architecture in the most paranoid way we can. 

What have I learned?  We have some of the best clients I could ask for.  We've been fortunate enough for SEVERAL affiliates to call in personal favors to help us get things under control, and I plan on utilizing everything we can.  I've also learned that the SitesAsRx goal needs to be kept alive, and that our clients deserve more.  And I plan on giving it to you.  I hope you will stand with us as we move forward.

We know, we know...  It's only been a little over a year now, and my has time flown.  We've made quite the progress, and this year will be no exception.  So we had to celebrate our progress, and revamp our own image a little.  We wanted to share a little more about who we are and what we're offering, so please take a minute to look around and get to know us!
